Minor Maintenance: first at 10,000 miles or 1 year after delivery, whichever occurs first. Thereafter, every 20,000 miles or 2 years after the last minor service, whichever occurs first.
Standard Maintenance: first at 20,000 miles or 2 years after delivery, whichever occurs first. Thereafter, every 20,000 miles or 2 years after the last standard service, whichever occurs first.
Intervals shown are for normal operating conditions. Severe conditions (extreme cold, excessive dust, etc.) may require certain services — particularly oil changes and air filter service — more frequently.

Minor Maintenance

  • Brake system — check thickness of brake pads
  • Engine oil and oil filter — change oil and replace filter
  • Multi-point inspection — complete
  • Service reminder indicator display — reset display
  • Tire repair kit — check and record completeness and expiration date (if equipped)

Standard Maintenance (includes all Minor Maintenance items)

  • Body/chassis — visually inspect for paint damage and corrosion, inside and out, doors/hood/trunk open
  • Brake system — check for damage and leaks, brake hose condition, bleeder caps present; check pad thickness
  • Connected box battery — check state of health with diagnostic tester (A4, S4, A4 allroad, A5, S5, RS 5, A6, A7, A8, Q5, SQ5, Q7, Q8)
  • Convertible top — lubricate latch mechanism (A5 Cabriolet, S5 Cabriolet only)
  • Door hinge (including door stay) and door latch — lubricate
  • Engine cooling system — check freeze protection and coolant level
  • Engine oil and oil filter — change oil and replace filter
  • Engine, transmission, final drive, steering — visual inspection for leaks and damage
  • Exterior lighting — check front/rear lights, turn signals, cornering lights, reverse lights, license plate lights, hazards
  • First aid kit — check and record expiration date (if equipped)
  • Front and rear axle/suspension — check dust seals on ball joints and tie rod ends; check for excessive play
  • Headlights — check adjustment
  • Hood safety catch — lubricate (A3, S3, RS 3 only)
  • Horn — check function
  • Instrument cluster — check warning and indicator lights
  • Interior lights — check all interior lights, trunk lights, glove box illumination
